Q : Where did your interior design career begin?

My background is in music and art, I started my interior design career 5 years ago. Being self-taught, you have to learn a lot of hard lessons. You have to have a thick skin. It’s a really fun business but there are many different aspects to it. I suggest finding a mentor!

Q : What design advice do you have for home owners looking for an easy update?

Don’t be afriad to take risks! You can transform a room with paint, wallpaper and hardware. It doesnt take a lot to give a space personality, if you are willing to take a risk.

Q : We love how you use our hardware, how do you choose which pieces to use?

I think Modern Matter hardware is the first hardware company who really took it to the jewelry level. You are my go-to! There are so many hardware combinations of knobs and backplates, it would take me a long time to repeat myself in my choices. I love how you can make it personal and specific to the design. You can go over the top glamorous or give it a vintage vibe. Every time i have the opportunity i am recommending your hardware.

Q : Do you have a favorite room to design?

Each space has its own challenges. But I always enjoy designing the kitchen since it is the heart of the home. It’s a blend of functionality and design, trying to create a harmonious balance.
