Sarah Brannon, founder of Sarah Brannon Interiors, honed her skills at renowned design firms in DFW before establishing her own practice in Midland, Texas. Her impeccable taste blends traditional and transitional design, with a focus on incorporating antiques, varying price points, and creating timeless, lived-in looks.
Q: What is your design philosophy?
A: Always a mix of old and new and high and low price points!

Q: What are your three must-haves when creating a space?
A: Custom drapery, custom-sized rugs to fit the space perfectly, and color!
Q: Who are your style inspirations? How are they manifested in your work?
A: I love incorporating vintage and antiques and the touch of unexpectedness those things bring to a room. I do not think I have ever designed a space that did not have something old to balance the new! I think the fun part about vintage is that it does not necessarily have to "match" the aesthetic in the house; it is allowed to stand out!

Q: How do you think of hardware when designing a space?
A: I think of it as the jewelry we get to add to a room! I love Modern Matter hardware for that exact reason; everything looks like jewelry, and it adds such a sparkle to anything you put it on!
Q: Do you have any rules you stick to when selecting hardware?
A: I always do knobs on doors and pulls on drawers (unless it is really tall doors, then I switch to a large pull that matches the drawer pulls). I also like to vary my pull sizes based on the drawer widths (I am okay to mix sizes in a space to fit the various proportions).
Q: Any tips on creating timeless interiors?
A: Mixing in old things!
