Step 1

Determine Placement

Use a tape measure to determine ideal knob placement on each door or drawer, ensuring consistency throughout. Align the backplate with your intended knob position.

Step 2

Mark the Surface

Apply painter’s tape and mark your exact drill point on top. This protects the wood while helping ensure precise, repeatable placement.

Step 3

Drill the Opening

Using a 7/32" drill bit, carefully drill at your marked point. Remove the tape once complete to reveal a clean, ready opening.

Step 4

Install by Hand

Place the backplate onto the surface, insert a longer screw through both the knob and backplate. Tighten by hand, then secure with a screwdriver.

Behind the Design - Horne

Designed to Be Personal

The Porter Collection brings together clean brass forms and the natural beauty of semi-precious gemstones. Structured silhouettes create a refined foundation, while gemstone inlays introduce color, pattern, and individuality.

Crafted from solid brass and finished by hand, each piece can be tailored through a considered pairing of finish and stone. The result is decorative hardware that feels distinctive, balanced, and uniquely suited to the space.
