Pierce & Ward collection

ABOUTthe collaborator

Pierce & Ward's collection for Modern Matter melds organic materials and forms with sophisticated, bohemian notes. The duo's appreciation for antiques and collecting is translated into designs with a timeless sense of cool. Bettlenut, pine wood, unlacquered brass, and art deco silhouettes evoke an eccentric yet utterly chic aesthetic. Pierce & Ward's design work can be seen in the pages of Architectural Digest, Domino, Garden & Gun, and House Beautiful.

About the Pierce & Ward Hardware Collection

Modern Matter’s Pierce & Ward collection has a relaxed, collected feel. It mixes vintage influence, darker finishes, and decorative details in a warm way. These pieces add texture and personality to cabinetry and furniture without feeling too formal.

The collection includes knobs, pulls, towel bars, robe hooks, toilet paper holders, and accessories with sculptural forms and antique-inspired shapes. Some styles feature gemstone accents, textured surfaces, and softer finishes. Hand-applied finishes create natural variation across the hardware. Each piece feels slightly different, which adds to the collected look.

Pierce & Ward hardware works well in spaces with vintage furniture, rich materials, and personal details. The collection adds depth and character without feeling overly polished. It also suits rooms that feel gathered over time, where hardware can act as one more thoughtful detail.
