Nestled along South Carolina’s Hammock Coast, The George Hotel is the first upscale boutique hotel in Georgetown—a vibrant waterfront retreat that blends the charm of 18th and 19th-century architecture with bold, bespoke design. With interiors curated by Jenny Keenan Design, the hotel features 56 artfully appointed rooms, a marina, waterfront bar, and celebrated restaurant, making it a destination of distinction for travelers seeking comfort with character.
We’re honored to have partnered with designer Jenny Keenan to debut our bathroom hardware collection in several of the hotel’s thoughtfully designed rooms and suites.
Our collaboration with The George was born from a shared commitment to thoughtful design and timeless craftsmanship. Just as The George reimagines what a coastal hotel experience can be—layering historic textures with modern sophistication—Modern Matter is redefining bathroom hardware through our signature blend of artistry and innovation.
During a recent photoshoot at the hotel, our debut bathroom collection was photographed in its natural element: surrounded by handpicked vintage furnishings, mural wallpapers, and riverfront views. The result? A striking narrative that speaks to the soul of both brands.

The George was the perfect setting to reveal this new collection. Each suite at the hotel is a study in thoughtful details—vintage ceramic lighting, bespoke headboards, and curated art pieces echo the eclectic and storied aesthetic of the property. Against this backdrop, our hardware became more than just functional—it became a focal point.
In each bathroom, the walls are graced with Keenan’s debut wallpaper collection, Archives by Jenny Keenan—a richly layered backdrop that effortlessly complements the refined elegance of our solid brass bath hardware. The pairing creates a harmonious dialogue between texture and tone, adding a tactile sense of luxury that feels both timeless and tailored. It’s a powerful reminder that great design is not only seen—it’s experienced.

At Modern Matter, we saw an opportunity to elevate bathroom hardware beyond the ordinary. Our vision was to transform everyday fixtures into striking design moments—pieces that exude luxury and reflect your personal style.
Each item in the collection—towel bars, towel rings, hooks, and toilet paper holders—is meticulously crafted from solid brass and hand-finished by skilled artisans. These are not mere accessories; they’re heirloom-quality pieces made to anchor and enhance your space.
Customization is at the core of everything we do. The bathroom collection allows you to mix and match finishes, gemstones, and styles of bars with backplates to create hardware that is as unique as your space.
