Modern Matter offers product customization that combines hand applied finish options with more than twelve semi-precious and natural gemstone options. All of our gemstones are mined, cut, polished and set by hand.

Solid Brass with Hand-Applied Finishes
Our knobs and pulls are made with 100% solid brass and all finishes are hand-applied. We believe in meticulous craftsmanship and timeless design that transforms homes one detail at a time. And all of the brass that Modern Matter uses is recycled!
We offer both living finishes and lacquered finishes. A living finish is when brass naturally oxidizes over time changing the finish of your product. This change can create a beautiful aged patina. A lacquered finish has a protective organic coating that forms a protective layer between the brass and the environment to prevent the oxidation process and the finish changing over time.
