Hardware Finishes: Part 2
While some appreciate the ever-changing beauty of a living finish, others seek a look that remains consistently radiant. Lacquered brass offers the best of both worlds—exquisite warmth and brilliance, yet with a durable, protective coating that preserves its luminous sheen for years to come. This finish is ideal for those who love the golden glow of brass but prefer a low-maintenance option that resists tarnishing and aging.
Lacquered brass finishes refer to solid brass hardware that has been coated with a clear protective lacquer to preserve its appearance and prevent natural oxidation. This finish helps maintain the metal’s original luster while reducing the need for frequent polishing.
Unlike unlacquered brass, which develops a natural patina over time, lacquered brass is sealed to maintain its polished appearance. This means you won’t have to worry about frequent polishing or the unpredictable evolution of its surface. Instead, it retains its signature luster, adding a touch of timeless elegance to any space. From intricate cabinet hardware to statement-making door handles, lacquered brass elevates interiors with its enduring beauty and refined sophistication.

Softly distressed and lightly brushed, Antique Brass evokes a sense of history and character. The lacquered surface enhances its warm patina, offering a gently aged look with a lived-in charm.
For those who prefer a muted, brushed gold finish, Satin Brass Matte delivers a refined softness. Its wire-brushed texture gives it a subtle satin glow, ideal for a modern yet warm aesthetic.

Dark Bronze is bold and moody, featuring a hand-applied deep bronze finish with golden undertones. The lacquered layer protects its dark richness while allowing subtle highlights to shine through.
Crafted with an artisanal touch, Oil Rubbed Bronze boasts a deep, burnished brown tone with exposed brass edges, creating a naturally worn-in effect. The lacquered surface preserves its unique depth.
A warm silver-tone finish achieved by plating polished brass with nickel, Polished Nickel evokes the refined beauty of heirloom silver. The lacquer coating keeps it lustrous and resistant to tarnishing.

To maintain lacquered brass finishes, clean the hardware using a soft, non-abrasive cloth slightly dampened with clean water. If needed, add a mild dishwashing liquid for gentle cleaning. After wiping, rinse with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a non-abrasive, lint-free, or microfiber cloth to prevent water spots and maintain the finish. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or rough materials, as they may damage the protective lacquer coating.
