Measure your window

Measure from the outside edge of the left trim to the outside edge of the right trim.

Room for the finishing touches

Measure horizontally from each outside trim edge to the nearest wall, cabinet, or other obstruction at rod height.

Your rod will be centered, with equal extension on both sides.

Where will the brackets mount?

Clear space above trim (inches)

At least 4.5 inches is needed for the 4-inch end bracket and installation tolerance.

Confirm with your installer that the mounting surface beside the window or on the trim accommodates the bracket. Confirm fit before ordering.

Choose your rod scale

Shown at the same scale for comparison; not actual size.

Help Me Choose recommends 1 inch through a 72-inch rod, and 1.25 inches for longer rods. This is a visual scale recommendation.
