Set up your table a few days in advance to ensure you have everything you need. This also allows you to prepare any linens that need to be pressed for the event.

Make your table interesting by combining vintage and new pieces. The vintage pieces can add interesting elements that stir up conversation while keeping the look fresh.

Don't forget about the serving pieces! Pull out all the platters and tureens and label what will be used for what. This will help you stay organized the day of the event.

Practice your recipes before the day of the event. Unless they are family recipes you have made before, you will want to make sure to do a dry run so that the meal is a success!

Go big with one centerpiece and then pull those colors into areas around your home. For example have small arrangements on the buffet or bar that coordinate with the main centerpiece.
